Classic French Toast

Ingredients
  • 4 eggs
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1½ teaspoon honey
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg - optional
  • 6 slices of Texas Toast (thick sliced bread)
  • butter for frying
  • syrup
  • fruit (optional)
Directions
  1. In a bowl whisk together the first 7 ingredients until well combined.
  2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt 1 teaspoon of butter.
  3. Place one slice of bread at a time into the egg mixture and allow to soak for 10 seconds.
  4. Working with 2 slices at a time place the egg soaked bread on to the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 2 minutes on each side.
  5. Repeat until all the french toast is made and serve while the french toast is still hot!
