    Carrot Cake Bars

I can’t believe I’m admitting this, but I have never tasted carrot cake… until a couple of weeks ago. I was out with a few friends and we all decided to share a dessert.  I didn’t want to be one of those pain in the neck friends who says “I don’t like that” so I said nothing and tried it. It’s not that I didn’t like carrot cake, it’s just that the idea of carrots and cake just didn’t go together in my head. So I never tried it…  Boy, was I missing out! I can’t believe all that goodness has not been in my life!  I have to admit…

    Nutella Espresso Biscotti

Making Biscotti reminds me of my Nonna.  When I want a little of my Nonna around me I make Biscotti. So in honor of her, I made Nutella Espresso Biscotti! I remember the delicious fragrance of the twice baked cookie wafting through her neighborhood.  Even the neighborhood police officers would stop over her house for an espresso and a biscotti or two.  My Nonna’s home seemed to be the hub of action, whether it was a holiday where all the family gathered (and there was a lot of us), or it was just the neighbors catching up, it was at my Nonna’s home.  There was always freshly made espresso that she…

    Chocolate Chip Cookies with M&M’s

There is nothing like a cookie right out of the oven, with a warm gooey center and a crispy outer rim along side a huge glass of ice cold milk.  I never get tired of eating that first hot cookie from each batch. I like to eat it right off the baking sheet before the rest of the cookies go on the cooling rack. Right now, my favorite mix-in ingredients are chocolate chips and M&M’s.  Don’t you love when the chocolate gets all melty and oozes all over your fingers and you lick your fingers clean {that can’t just be me}? Lately, I have noticed on Pinterest there a many cookie…

    Brown Sugar Toffee Bars

I think I’m going through a phase! The only desserts I want must come in a bar shape, like brownies, only not brownies.  Like brownies without the chocolate in the mix.  And my other obsession at the moment is Biscoff Spread.  I do go through spurts with Biscoff Spread, and I’m in one now. I know I’ve talked about Biscoff Spread before, when I came up with this recipe. So why havent you tried it yet? I’m telling you are missing out! Biscoff Spread is like nothing else I have ever tasted.  It’s sweet, but not too sweet.  I use it in place of peanut butter, just to change things…
